Woman Arrested In Laurel County On Multiple Charges Following Domestic Dispute

Deputies in Laurel County arrested a woman on multiple charges, including first degree criminal abuse. They were responding to a call about a possible domestic dispute on East Laurel Road when they say they saw 33 year old Alesha Wagers of London, walking with a child in the middle of the road. Wagers and the child had apparently been involved in that domestic dispute. According to deputies, Wagers ignored their commands to get the child out of harm’s way and got into a struggle with them before being arrested. Deputies went to the home were the domestic dispute happened and found the child’s grandparents. The deputies then learned the grandparents had temporary custody of the child and Wagers had left with the child without the proper authorization. Deputies also learned Wagers had outstanding warrants and had smoked marijuana and used Roxicodone earlier in the day. Wagers faces several charges, including first degree criminal abuse, felony custodial interference, resisting arrest and outstanding warrants. She was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
