Ex Corbin Police Officer, Who Is Facing Federal Drug Charges, Arrested On Theft Charges

The Corbin News Journal is reporting a former Corbin police officer, who is facing federal drug charges, has been arrested on local theft charges. Corbin Police arrested 43 year old Charlie Bronson Fugate at his residence on two warrants. One warrant was for receiving stolen property and theft by deception-cold checks. The other was for identity theft. Fugate and Tiffany Hamilton allegedly went to a music store in Corbin and sold a guitar that turned out to be stolen. In the other instance Fugate allegedly used his ex-wife's information in an attempt to get a bank loan. The drug charges stem from an indictment alleging Fugate, along with Tiffany Hamilton and Richard Stanley of Corbin conspired to distribute meth in Laurel and Whitley counties. Fugate was also indicted on charges of possession of firearms in the furtherance of a drug trafficking offense and being an unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of firearms.
