Bimbo Bakery Pushes Back on the FDA

A top bakery is pushing back on the FDA. Bimbo Bakery, which has a location here in London, owns Sara Lee, Entenmann’s and Ball Park buns and rolls. The FDA wants them to stop using labels that say their products contain sesame or tree nuts, when they don’t. The FDA is accusing the bakery of misbranding their products. Bimbo Bakery says it’s just the opposite, their labels protect customers because they use the same packaging for all of the products. They say it’s to prevent people from accidentally eating foods that can trigger potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.
