Byrd Found Guilty in Death of London Police Officer

The man accused of killing a London Police officer in a drunk driving accident almost two years ago has been found guilty following a trial in Warren County. Casey Byrd was charged with murder and drunk driving in the death of Officer Logan Medlock in October 2022. Following a lengthy jury selection process, Judge Gregory Lay heard opening statements and witness testimony from those who were drinking with Byrd the night of the crash. Witnesses also included coworkers of Officer Medlock and first responders to the accident. Following almost seven hours of deliberations, Byrd was found guilty of murder, two counts of 3rd degree criminal mischief and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants.
