Corbin Officials Formulating Plan for Safer Roads

City of Corbin officials hosted a public planning meeting this week to address road safety needs. Corbin received a $200,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration for a Safe Streets for All plan. The plan is to help pinpoint areas of infrastructure needs as they relate to safety of pedestrians and modes of transportation. Mayor Suzie Razmus said the public meeting had about 20 people from the community offer their suggestions on areas they feel have issues. Along with the public meeting, community members shared ideas on Facebook as well. City officials are continuing to compile information from the community over the next month before they formulate a plan. Mayor Razmus said having the community input gives city officials a better understanding of areas that need work done.
