Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith says deputies were called out to a deadly crash Sunday on Highway 229. Police arrived to find skid marks leading off the road, over an embankment and into a tree line. There, a pickup was found on its side. The driver, 40-year-old Brad Rose, of Girdler, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is continuing.
