Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Detective Taylor McDaniel made an arrest in connection to a shooting incident. Deputies were called out to Sinking Creek Road where a man, later identified as 47-year-old Delbert Cox, had allegedly shot into an unoccupied vehicle. Police arrived to find that Cox had barricaded himself inside a building and would not come out. Cox told deputies that he was armed. Following a brief standoff, Capt. Chris Edwards persuaded Cox to come out and surrender. He was charged with criminal mischief, menacing and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Cox was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center. London City Police Officers also assisted at the scene.
