Suspect Arrested After Two People are Found Dead in Pulaski County

Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones says an arrest has been made after three people were found shot in the Science Hill area Tuesday night. Officers with several law enforcement agencies responded to a call of a shooting victim on Raleigh Road at approximately 11:47 p.m. Officers found 67-year-old Ardyth Prather Jr., known as “Ray”, dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Ardyth Prather Jr.’s wife, 65-year-old Joann Prather, had been shot and stabbed but was still alive. Joann was treated at the scene and ultimately flown out to Lexington. Joann’s condition is not known, but officials said she was improving. Officers later discovered that a neighboring home had blood on the door. Officers entered the home and found 43-year-old Ardyth Prather III, known as “Trae”, dead inside the home. The suspect, 20-year-old Austin Prather, the son and grandson of the victims, left the scene before police arrived. Wednesday evening, officials confirmed Austin Prather was found and arrested in Indiana.
