Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Austyn Weddle and Capt. Chris Edwards were dispatched to a reported burglary in progress at a residence off Jackson Road. Police arrived to find 36-year-old Jessica Barnett, of Harrodsburg, at the home. During the investigation deputies learned that, allegedly, Barnett had been dropped off at the home. Deputies found that the inside of the house had been torn apart and destroyed. Police say Barnett could not advise how long she had been inside the home. Barnett was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal mischief. She was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
