During their weekly update on Kool Gold’s London News Now, the Laurel County Health Department reported COVID and flu numbers continue to be low to moderate, but on the rise in the county. Public Services Supervisor, Tyler Caldwell, said from November 6th to November 9th there were 105 new cases, but no new hospitalizations. Caldwell says flu cases continue to be low at this point, but on the rise. He said the most frequently reported flu type continues to be influenza A which is targeted by the current vaccine. Caldwell said as we get into flu and respiratory illness season, it’s important to practice preventive measures like washing your hands, covering your coughs and sneezes, staying home when you’re sick and staying up to date on vaccinations.
