The National Weather Service in Jackson confirmed an EF-1 tornado moved through eastern parts of Corbin during the Memorial Day weekend. The tornado had maximum winds of 90 mph. Meteorologists said the quick, spin-up started near the Legacy Chevrolet dealership and caused damage to a gas station and car wash. The tornado crossed US-25E and into a manufactured shed retail lot. It later crossed into a tree line and possibly lifted before producing more damage near Poplar Grove Road. Meteorologists said the tornado traveled between Lynn Camp High School and Lynn Camp Elementary School before dissipating. No injuries were reported due to the tornado.
