Kentucky State Police say an arrest has been made in connection with an ongoing arson investigation. A structure fire was reported to Post 11 in London on Sunday where a single-family home on Laurel River Church Road was on fire. Evidence was found that the home was burglarized and then set on fire to cover up the crime. Police found that the suspect, 47-year-old Billy J. Swafford, of London disabled the homes alarm system and stole multiple items with a total value more than $10,000. Swafford has been charged with Arson 1st Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, and possession of Burglar Tools. Swafford was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
