The trial is underway for a man charged with murdering a London police officer. Casey Byrd was charged with murder and drunk driving in the death of Officer Logan Medlock in October 2022. Byrd’s legal representation requested that his trial be moved from Laurel County to Warren County. That request was granted. Jurors were selected and opening statements were heard on Tuesday.
