Patriot Certificate Awarded in Laurel County to Veteran Blinded in Vietnam

Disabled American Veterans Chapter 158 is celebrating 45 years of supporting veterans in the Keavy community of Laurel County. During the anniversary celebration, Dennis Eaton, who was blinded in combat during the Vietnam War, was awarded a patriot certificate by the Sons of the American Revolution. Charles Hayes with the Sons of the American Revolution said they wanted to honor someone who has given a lot for his country. Eaton said despite his disability, he continues pushing through anything that comes his way. He said throughout the years, his community has supported him, which keeps him going.
