A Former Judge-Executive Dead After Accident In Jackson County

A former Powell County judge-executive is dead after an incident in Jackson County. Kentucky State Police received a call from the McKee Police Department Tuesday requesting help in an incident regarding a construction worker on KY-587 at Jackson County Middle School. Troopers said 48-year-old James Anderson was unloading storm drain tiles from a low-boy equipment trailer when he fell off and hit the ground. Anderson, of Stanton, was taken to St. Joseph-London for treatment, but he later died. He was pronounced dead by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office. Officials say foul play is not suspected.
