Baptist Health Corbin received the American Heart Association’s ‘Get With The Guidelines’ Stroke Rural Recognition Silver award. Executive Director of Nursing Teresa Cobb said it’s important to treat strokes as quickly as possible, because you don’t want the stroke to progress. She said you must quickly treat the patient and prevent further injury to their brain. Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President Sherrie Mays said they are constantly working to stay up to date with treatments.
