The Corbin Police Department says officers arrested a man following a high speed chase. An officer tried to pull over 38-year-old Rickie Blankenship, of Corbin, after he was reportedly clocked going nearly 100 mph on his motorcycle. The officer was able to catch up to Blankenship near exit 29. Blankenship continued speeding through southern Laurel County until he eventually hit a Kentucky State Police trooper. Blankenship then fled on foot, but was caught and taken into custody. He was charged with assault, running from police and criminal mischief, among others.
