The Brindle Ridge Volunteer Fire Department says they were dispatched to a house fire on Sinking Valley Springs Road in Mount Vernon. When crews arrived at the scene, they noticed that the fire was coming from one of the windows. Firefighters went inside the home to put out the fire. Crews say approximately 1,000 gallons of water was used to put the fire out. No one was inside the home when the fire occurred. The investigation is continuing.
