Gov. Andy Beshear honored a Whitley County man who was killed during the Korean War. Sgt. Raymond E. Hall of Mountain Ash was a member of the 19th infantry regiment. Officials said he was killed in what was called the “Suncheon Tunnel Massacre,” along with 65 other prisoners of war. After several years of identification tests, officials said Hall was accounted for on May 10 and family members were notified. Gov. Beshear said while it is heartbreaking to learn about the loss of this Korean War soldier, it is also healing to be able to finally bring him home. Hall will be buried in Calverton, New York, on Oct. 21st.
