Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear may be in contention for a national campaign. The Hill is citing “well-connected Democratic Party insiders” in reporting that Beshear is among several “serious” candidates to be considered for the vice president nominee if President Biden withdraws from the race. The Hill reports his name is on a shortlist to be Kamala Harris’s vice presidential pick. In recent days, there have been an increasing number of calls from major Democratic Party officials for President Biden to withdraw from the race. Despite these calls, Biden has remained adamant that he is staying in the campaign.
