The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has issued a golden alert for a missing man. Deputies say 43-year-old Jeff R. Smith was last seen May 2 in the Heidrick community. Police say at that time Smith was wearing camo clothing and carrying a camo backpack. They said he may suffer from a mental illness. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Department or Knox County 911.
