Knox County Police Make Arrest in Stolen Copper Thefts

Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith says deputies arrested a Manchester man accused of cutting copper wire out of phone lines and internet boxes. Deputies responded to the scene of a reported theft off of KY-11 and found a large phone line was missing. Deputies said several locks and smaller wires were also cut from the internet boxes that belonged to Windstream. Following an investigation, deputies took 44-year-old Tony Dezarn into custody. Investigators found the same wiring that was missing from the scene inside of his car. Dezarn was charged with theft and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
