Laurel County Basketball Legacy Ceremony to be Held August 3rd at Wellness Park

From Roy Bowling’s eight Sweet-16 appearances as a head coach in Laurel County to the Sheppard family’s success at UK, Laurel County has a rich basketball history. In honor of that heritage, London and Laurel County officials have announced a Laurel County Basketball Legacy Celebration Saturday, August 3rd at the Wellness Park. The festivities begin at 11am. All Laurel County players and coaches who have made it to the state tournament, won a state tournament or Sweet 16 will be recognized, as well as Reed Sheppard and family, who are expected to be on hand. Other dignitaries and elected officials will take part in the ceremonies. Organizers say it will honor success from the past while serving to motivate the future. The community is invited to attend.
