Laurel County Sheriff John Root reports Deputy Bobby Roberts pulled over a vehicle which failed to signal a turn on KY 490. During the stop it was determined that the driver, 46-year-old James Bailey of East Bernstadt, was operating on a DUI suspended license. He was also determined to be under the influence. During the investigation, London Police Officer Dylan Messer deployed his K-9 leading to the discovery of gabapentin in an unlabeled bottle along with several glass pipes with residue. Bailey was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, driving on a DUI suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, prescription controlled substances not in the proper container and others. Bailey was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
