Two People Now Charged In Crash That Killed 10-Year-Old Girl

Kentucky State Police troopers say two people have now been served with warrants stemming from a crash that killed a 10-year-old girl. 31-year-old Darius Wade, of Lexington, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and murder. The girl’s mother, 32-year-old Danisha Martin, of Lexington, was charged last week with complicity to commit murder. Investigators say Martin reportedly admitted to knowing that Wade was drinking before operating a moped with her daughter on it. Police say they crashed into another vehicle that night. Wade and the child were flown to UK Hospital, where the girl later died. Both Wade and Martin were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
