Corbin Man Arrested After Police Catch Him Breaking Into Vehicle

Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith says a Corbin man was arrested after reportedly running from and fighting police. It all started when deputies responded to a suspicious person complaint in the Legacy Ford dealership parking lot on the Cumberland Gap Parkway. Deputies arrived to find 20-year-old Matthew Gray trying to break into a car. Deputies say when they confronted him, he ran. When they caught up with him, Gray reportedly began to fight one of the deputies. After a brief struggle, Gray was taken into custody. During the arrest, a plastic bag with suspected heroin and a plastic bag with different pills were found. Gray was charged with drug possession, running from police, resisting arrest, assault and menacing. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
